For more than a year, NOR underwent a tremendous amount of re-construction to create a state-of-the-art children’s center; where the environment offers tangible benefits and acts as “the third teacher.”Adopting the atmosphere and approach of Loris Malaguzzi of Reggio Emilia, Italy- an internationally recognized educational philosophy known for its constructivist approach to learning, where children construct knowledge from the experiences, curiosities and supportive people around them. In an effort to further integrate self-constructed learning, we have also integrated advanced early childhood education model that Google employs for its childcare centers; marrying both time-tested and progressive approaches. Taking its inspiration from the work of Jean Piaget, this model which emphasizes play as a vehicle for making meaning from their enjoyable experiences; helps develop children to become creative thinkers, great problem-solvers, excellent communicators, and companion ate humans, empathetic to their surroundings.

We also adopt elements of the Waldorf approach, as our school is child-centered and teacher-guided. We push children to think independently and encourage their curiosity as they explore their environment. Following the Waldorf approach allows children to develop eurhythmy— a Greek word meaning harmonious rhythm. By fostering free-thinking and integrating the arts into our daily lessons, we are able to mold children into well-rounded individuals.

To better understand the individual interests and challenges of a child, NOR believes in the importance of small group sizes.
